Thunderbird 102.3.2
Thunderbird 102.3.2 is specifically tailored for bug fixes and does not contain any security patches. The official release notes on the Thunderbird website highlight a singular change and more than a dozen bug fixes.
As per the changelog, Thunderbird now tries to utilize POP CRAM-MD5 authentication despite the server not advertising support for this feature.
The latest update for the email client introduces several vital modifications. One of the significant fixes tackles an issue causing a deadlock during the process of checking POP3 messages on servers. In cases where the mail server was slow or unresponsive, it could lead to the locking of the POP3 folder.
The engineering team has also addressed a hanging problem in Thunderbird, which surfaced when events post the year 2035 were added to the Calendar. Regarding Calendar enhancements, numerous Calendar-specific issues have been rectified or enhanced in this new release:
- Enhanced the performance of recurring event date calculation.
- Corrected the repetition of quarterly events on the last day of the month one month early.
- Resolved the issue where the event reminder window failed to close after selecting snooze or dismiss.
- Properly displayed the new event button at times in the Today Pane.
- Corrected the misuse of days when creating events from the Today Pane.
- Handled whitespace inaccuracies in calendars post-upgrading from Thunderbird 91.
Additional modifications in the latest Thunderbird version comprise fixing a sync problem with CardDAV servers, addressing missing contacts from LDAP in macOS address books, and multiple chat-related adjustments.
Users are encouraged to review the complete changelog for comprehensive information on the fixes.
