New built computer won’t boot

Name: David Burkett

Hi, I just built a computer for the first time and when I try to boot it the intel logo shows and then the computer goes to the safe mode screen. I have tried booting in safe mode and it always goes back to the safe mode screen again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Did you do a fresh install of Windows when you built this computer, or did you take a hard drive out of another one in the hopes that it’d boot the OS already installed on there? That will work sometimes, but not always.

Slap your Windows CD in the drive, boot from it, and do a fresh install of the OS. Have it format the partition that you’re installing Windows to. You’ll lose any data on that partition so you should back it up first, (if there is any) but then Windows can be installed without any issues carried over.

If you’ve installed it fresh and the computer won’t boot, then I’d suggest taking out all extra hardware in the machine, and reinstalling Windows. Leave only the stuff in there that has to be in there. If you successfully get Windows working then, you can put each peice of hardware in one-by-one and see which one is causing the issue.

Be sure to get the latest drivers for your peripherals from the manufacturer. Bad drivers prevent booting too.
