Computers all look pretty much the same. But why? And are we sure these metal rectangles are the best a laptop or desktop can be? We visited one guy who’s looking for a different way. Keegan McNamara has spent the last year making computers out of wood, by hand, one by one, in a workshop in his Los Angeles home. He calls them Mythic Computers. They’re beautiful, they’re expensive, and they’re flat-out cool. McNamara says he’s trying to build the next Apple or take on the MacBook — he’s trying to find entirely new ways to think about and build PCs.
