Check inside the machine and make sure that the IDE cable for the opti drive is attached in both the back of the drive, and to the motherboard firmly.

Because of the fact that you can’t play games I’m going to assume that your “D drive” is a CD or DVD-ROM. More than likely the guy that was going to fix your virus hooked up your hard drive to a machine of his own, and in the process of removing your hard disk, he ended up disconnecting the optical drive in the process.


Check inside the machine and make sure that the IDE cable for the opti drive is attached in both the back of the drive, and to the motherboard firmly. Also make sure that the power connector is attached.

If they are, then it could be a jumper issue, but I don’t see why that would have been changed.
