After being disappointed with last year’s model, for 2023 MSI has given its thin-and-light gaming laptop line a complete overhaul and the result is fantastic. Not only does the Stealth 14 Studio feature a stunning new magnesium-aluminum chassis, but it also got a spec bump and a ton of handy additions like the physical shutter for the webcam. You can choose between an FHD+ 165Hz IPS display or an optional QHD+ 240Hz panel, with an Intel Core i7 chip and up to an RTX 4070 GPU. Despite its strong performance, the Stealth 14 Studio weighs just 3.75 pounds, which is almost half a pound lighter than similarly sized rivals. MSI even upgraded the system’s battery life, which now lasts an hour longer than before. The only small downsides are a low-res 720p webcam, a slightly large chin and thermals that can get a bit toasty under load. But perhaps the best part is that if you don’t fancy a 14-inch gaming laptop, the Stealth Studio is available in a 16-inch model as well.
