Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has partnered with Dell Technologies to launch Azure Cloud Computing Services for the first time in Pakistan. This new service aims to empower PTCL enterprise customers to make the most of technology to achieve their business goals.
The collaboration was formalized between Sayyed Muhammad Imran Ali, EVP of Digital Services at PTCL, and Naveed Khan, Director of Data Center Solutions for Asia Emerging Markets at Dell Technologies. The agreement was signed at the PTCL Headquarters in Islamabad in the presence of senior executives from both companies.
The upcoming Azure Stack Hub is an extension of Microsoft Azure designed to bring the flexibility and innovation of Cloud Computing to on-premises infrastructure for Cloud Services providers. Once implemented at PTCL, the Azure Stack Hub will offer Azure consistent services, whether connected to the internet and Azure or in disconnected environments without internet connectivity. It utilizes the same underlying technologies as global Azure, providing core components of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) capabilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Sayyed Muhammad Imran Ali, EVP of Digital Services at PTCL, mentioned, “PTCL Azure Stack represents a step towards digital transformation, Cloud preparedness, and innovation. It has the potential to help SMEs and large enterprises enhance customer experiences, as well as support governments and academic institutions in driving innovation. This partnership will expand the capabilities of our enterprise customers and facilitate faster growth.”
Naveed Khan, Director of Data Center Solutions for Asia Emerging Markets at Dell Technologies, added, “We are delighted to assist PTCL in expanding their cloud presence in Pakistan to enable businesses to innovate and embrace the hybrid cloud confidently. With Dell Technologies Azure Stack, PTCL customers can access Azure Cloud services without having to move their applications and data out of the country.”
These Cloud Computing Services will not only empower PTCL’s business customers to achieve their full potential but also support the national telecom carrier’s ongoing efforts to promote digitization in alignment with the Government of Pakistan’s vision for a ‘Digital Pakistan.’
