It has been quite some time since OCZ came out with a power supply. However, the company is back with a bang and a big name. The ‘Fatal1ty’ moniker comes from Jonathan ‘Fatal1ty’ Wendel, the world’s first professional gamer. This suggests that OCZ co-developed this PSU with Jonathan to ensure specific needs of gamers.
Specifications
The PSU offers 550 watts of power. With ’80 Plus Bronze’ certification, it can deliver clean power at 80% efficiency. It has a fully modular cable design with a single +12V rail. It also comes with a LED lit cooling fan that uses a sleeve bearing for silent operation. That aside, the power supply comes with two PCIe connectors and a single EPS connector. For a 550 watts power supply, this has numerous SATA and peripheral connections, which are all 18AGW wires, the recommended ATX standard.
Design
Being a large power supply unit, it comes in a large box. It has a front close-up shot of the PSU with its red LED fan in action. On the side, you will find information and the testimony of the co-developer, Jonathan ‘Fatal1ty’ Wendel. At the back, you can find the technical specifications of the unit.
The PSU looks and feels well-built and boasts a high quality finish. It has the useful on/off switch and the classic honey comb grill. In addition, the modular panel at the rear has 10 sockets, all well decaled in red and black. The black ones are for the 24-pin and reds for the peripheral, PCIe and EPS connections.
Performance
Being an ’80 Plus Bronze’ certified power supply, the PSU offers exceptional efficiency. It performs admirably at low loads and is able to deliver continuous power at full loads with almost 79.79% efficiency. The cooling fan keeps its noise levels down at full load and was able to keep the PSU within optimal operation temperature.

The Fatal1ty comes at a very good price point. Retailing for only $69.99, this PSU offers good performance at a great price.
