If you had to name every single social media platform out there, you would be writing down tens and tens of platforms which you could use to socialise on. In short, there are far too many social media platforms nowadays. This has meant that people have had to choose which ones they want to use. However, if you are at the stage when you do not use social media yet and are looking to make an account with one of them, you might want to hear my thoughts about Twitter. After using around ten different platforms, I have come to the conclusion that Twitter is the best and most rounded platform for people to use. Here is why.

Twitter is Short and Sweet

Most people are generally quite busy. Therefore, if you are going to use a social media platform, you want to be able to engagement quickly and effectively with others. The 150 character limit means you can tweet your thoughts in under a minute while you also control who to follow. So, if you only want to follow a dozen people, you can easily read through their tweets in around a minute too. Twitter is great at not taking up your time but also enabling you socialise.

Tweet Activity

I love the fact that Twitter has made it possible to see the activity of your tweets. This means that after you have tweeted what you want to say, you can see useful statistics such as the total impressions of your tweet, engagements with it, the percentage who have clicked on a video or photo, replies, percentage of those that visited your profile page from your tweet plus more. Personally, I found this interesting as it has helped me shape what type of tweets my followers like and engage with the most and the type of tweets my followers do not like too.

Best Way To Follow Anyone

Above everything, Twitter is, by far, the best way to follow and stay up to date with anyone who has an account on Twitter. By this, I mean friends, family, companies and celebrities. You will find that just about every company and celebrity has a Twitter account so it makes it possible to engage with the people you care about the most. This is not as easy with other social media platforms such as Facebook and Google+.

Ultimately, Twitter is simple to use. Some people will not like that and will prefer complicated social media platforms. But, for the majority of people that just want to keep up to date with those they care and voice their thoughts, Twitter cannot be matched by any other social media platform. Give it a go! You will not regret it.
