One of Sony’s most recent developments in the tablet market is the Sony Xperia z2. It is a lightweight, user-friendly and feature loaded option for consumers who like media, connectivity and superior sound. While the initial memory capacity is not all that great, the few limitations of this tablet are easily overcome with inexpensive additions.
General Specifications
According to the official Sony Xperia z2 review, this is a seriously lightweight device, though it has a powerful quad core processor. It measures just a 1/4″ thick and weighs 15.5 ounces. The HD touch screen is 10.1″. When you get this device, it has 3GB of RAM and 16GB worth of storage. However, there is a Micro SD expansion slot that can handle up to 128 GB more. You would need to purchase an SD card separately, though. Perhaps the best feature of the Sony Xperia z2 is the fact that it is waterproof and dust resistant. That is some serious versatility.

Battery, Charging and Battery Life
The 6000 mAh battery that comes with this tablet can play up to 13 hours of video on one charge. You can easily make it through even the longest flights with plenty of battery power if you limit your video use or you can finish several movies in one sitting and then take a nap. You have the options you need. The Sony Xperia z2 comes with a charger and micro USB cable.
Operating System and Standard Apps
The Sony Xperia z2 is an Android tablet that supports both WiFi and 4G. It runs on the Google Android 4.4.2 OS or KitKat. It comes with all of the more popular apps already installed and ready to use. These include Facebook, Twitter, Socialife, Voice enhancement Xperia and Google Hangouts.
Camera and Video
The camera comes with several features, such as auto focus, burst mode, face detection, geotagging, HDR photo, HD video, 1080p video recording, self-timer, 8x digital optical zoom, panorama and much more. The front-facing camera is 2.2 MP and the main camera is 8.1 MP. Image is taken in JPEG, though playback supports BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG and WBMP.
Audio
After writing our Sony Xperia z2 review, it is clear that this tablet has sound features that make it stand out from the competition. It has front stereo speakers for a fuller sound. It also features noise-cancelling support, which is quite a bit of technology in and of itself. It is also HD voice capable, has the “xLoud Experience” and TrackID music recognition. Your tablet also has a 3.55 mm audio headphone jack for when you prefer personal listening. The bottom line with the Sony Xperia z2 is that it is clearly designed for the typical user. Busy individuals who are prone to spills, like to watch movies on the go and do not want to recharge every hour will get what they want from this tablet. It’s a great family device that can save you a lot of headaches.
