Is your monitor connected via a d-sub connector? The first thing that comes to mind with your issue is that there’s an open in your monitor cable. Assuming you have an older analog connection, because I quite honestly don’t know whether or not a DVI connection would behave this way, there’s probably a break in one of the wires that goes to your monitor. Try wiggling the connection at the back of your computer around and see if suddenly the color becomes normal.

If wiggling the cable around at the connection point doesn’t do the trick, you may want to try moving the middle of the cable about, but almost always if there’s a monitor cable issue it’s at the connection point.

Aside from that, there’s a slight possibility that the same issue happened on your motherboard. If somehow one of the connections to the d-sub output snapped this can cause the color problem. Make sure that all the wires on the inside look intact (usually a set of rigid connectors)

Also, try another monitor. There’s always the possibility that your current setup has gone bad.
