5 Tech Gadgets That Changed The 21st Century World

Every now and then, a new market emerges or gets reinvented with a truly great product/gadget. However, these moments don’t come around often which is why there are only five main candidate for revolutionary gadgets of the 21st century.

Below are five gadgets and pieces of technology that truly changed the world and helped mould it into the crazy place we call the world today. Therefore, without further ado, here are five gadgets that changed the 21st century world (in no particular order).

 

#1 Apple iPhone

Of course, this has to be on the list. When the first iPhone was introduced in 2007, it truly changed the world in its huge touchscreen, accessiblity to thousands of apps, the ability for someone’s whole music library to be on a phone and provided an internet browsing experience that was not matched by any of phone at the time. To some extent, the iPhone was the very first smartphone ever produced.

 

 

#2 Apple iPad

Apple again! But, like the iPhone, this was revolutionary and there was nothing like it out there. What Image result for ipad originalthe iPad did was introduce the functionality of the iPhone but onto a larger screen to make the experience of everything more immersive and more beautiful. It left netbooks in tatters and was the perfect merge of an iPhone and laptop. The iPad created the tablet market that we now see awashed with hundreds of products from all of the main tech companies.

#3 Tesla Model Roadster

For an electric sports car, the Tesla Model Roadster was not the best car Tesla had ever built. They took the chassis from a Lotus which made the car have a distinct ‘prototype’ feeling to it. However, it was a massive turn in the automotive industry. The Tesla Model Roadster was popular enough to make Elon Musk aware enough to fund Tesla further, which led the way for the emergingly clean electric car market. The Tesla Model Roaster, to some extent, was the first mainstream electric car.

 

 

#4 Bugatti Veyron

The Bugatti Veyron was a project by Volkswagon to make a revolutionary supercar that was aimed at pushing the boundaries for what was mechanically possible. Although it strictly did not affect the automotive market significantly, it is an amazing car which can only be described as a ‘Concorde’ moment – something we may never see again in our lives. It is truly an amazing car that is still blowing people away how technologically advanced it was for 2005.

#5 Facebook

Be it for the better or the worst, Facebook was created in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg and has since grown into a mutli-billion dollar company. Enabling people to stay up to date, talk and socialise with those they care about most, Facebook can be seen to take advantage of globalisation and use it to its advantage. Now, in 2017, it is extremely rare to find someone that is not on Facebook.

 

To close this article off, here are some honourable mentions that did not make the list:

  • Bluetooth which is now being used by billions upon billions of devices worldwide
  • YouTube, which has become the largest video playing website
  • Google Android, which allowed Google and tech companies to compete against Apple
  • Tesla’s driveless cars in the next few years which might just revolutionise the car sector…
