5 Reasons to Include an Author Box on Blog Posts

But, there are some websites and blog owners that do not see the need for an author box. However, I am here to tell you that from not having an author box might actually be hindering the success of your blog. For this reason, here are 5 reasons why every website should include an author box on blog posts, preferably at the end of the article.

 

 

#1 Let’s the Web User Engage More

If there is not an author box for blog posts, then the web user will never know who wrote the article, what type of person they were like: the web user will not be able to interact and engage the author of the post. Engagement is crucial online since it is engagement which differentiates one website from sounding like a robot to another website where the web user could potentially feel so engaged it was like they were in a conversation while reading a post. For this reason, author posts add a touch of ‘humanity’ to blog posts offering better engagement for web users.

 

 

#2 Blog Posts Wrote by an Expert or Not?

Without an author box, it is impossbile to see the credentials of an author to a blog post, which makes it very difficult for web users to judge on whether the content they read is actually legitimately useful or if it is rubbish from somebody that has no experience or knowledge of the content they are writing about.

Web user mainly use author boxes to check and validate the online CV of an author. For example, a web user is more likely to take advice in a blog post from an expert than from someone who is not.

Author boxes allow web users to interact with the author via following and engaging with the author through social media platforms. It is common for authors to leave links to their social media sites in the author box so that the web user can stay more up to date with that specific author, if they enjoyed reading the content that author produced.

 

 

#4 Who Gets Credit for a Blog Post

At the end of the day, if the author box is not there, the online world does not have a clue who wrote that article and who should get the credit for that article, be it amazing or awful.

For bloggers who are looking to make a living out of blogging full time, it is an absolute neccessity to make sure every bit of work you publish online has an author box to validate that you wrote it and to add to your CV of blog posts you have online. After all, getting blogging jobs is commonly dictated by where you have wrote articles already online and about what – author boxes allow employers to be confident that the content you claim you wrote online was actually wrote by you.
