3 Reasons Why Motorola Have Made A Comeback

Five years ago, who would have though Motorola would be still going and stronger than ever? The truth is that no one did because Motorola, as a mobile phone manufacturer, was struggling for new ideas, innovations and even inventions. However, if we look at Motorola today as a technological company in 2015, you would agree in saying that the company looks just as strong or stronger than the time when the Motorola Razor took the world by storm…what has happened? Well, here are three reasons why Motorola has managed to make a comeback as a company and continue innovating in 2015.

#1 Google Takeover

In 2012, Google purchased Motorola for $12.5 billion and ever since then, Motorola has been progressing. The fact of the matter is that Google are known for inventions, innovations and making products and services people want, and potentially need, to buy. Therefore, with the backing of Google, Motorola was always going to become a successful company.

As well as this, Google did not have any experience in hardware at all before Motorola in the smartphone market. Therefore, as well as Google helping Motorola, Motorola was equally helping Google with giving them indepth knowledge to the hardware of mobile computing devices.

So, to sum up, Google has been a massive factor in the Motorola comeback.

#2 Simplicity

Many mobile phone consumers do not like using Android for the skins smartphone manufacturers put over the top of stock Android in an attempt to make the user interface more appealing with added features. However, most people just want stock Android which is why the Nexus line up has always been very popular. What Motorola have done with their range of Android smartphones is keep things as simple as possible and only add features which are useful and cool but do not ruin the whole user interface (such as shaking  the phone twice to activate the light on the phone as a flash light). What consumers get is a stock Android feeling phone that is not a Nexus so we cannot be surprised that these phones have sold well (such as the Moto G).

#3 Moto 360

It is true to say as well that a lot of the success of Motorola has come with the Moto 360 Android wear smart watch. Being one of the first smart watches to be released alongside the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live,  the Moto 360 blew people away with its looks and took the market by storm. It is safe to say too that the Moto 360 second generation will do the same with an updated design to give the watch a more premium look and feel as well as updating the internal hardware too.

Ultimately, Motorola was saved by Google and with their backing, they will continue to become a successful company.
