The Zorin team has launched Zorin OS 15.3, following the 15.2 release six months ago. This edition is the latest update in the Zorin OS 15 series, known for its popularity and advanced features.
The Zorin OS 15 version has garnered over 1.7 million downloads since its initial release in June 2019. The latest version, 15.3, aims to enhance the operating system by introducing new and updated software, security features, and improved hardware compatibility.
Zorin OS 15.3: What’s New?
This new version, 15.3, is built on the recently launched Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS and will receive software updates and security patches until April 2023.
In terms of hardware compatibility and security enhancement, Zorin OS 15.2 has upgraded its Linux Kernel version from 5.3 to 5.4. This update adds support for new hardware like the Intel 11th generation Core processors, upcoming AMD CPUs, and GPUs.
Moreover, the software side of version 15.3 has received significant updates. It includes the latest security patches for all software and version updates for core applications to provide a faster, feature-rich experience.
Additionally, Zorin OS now features the latest stable version of LibreOffice 6.4.6, offering improved compatibility with Microsoft Office documents, performance enhancements, and additional features.
Lastly, besides stability and performance improvements, Zorin OS 15.3 has made enhancements to its Zorin Connect app for Android, such as:
- Automated device search on trusted Wi-Fi networks only
- Quick access buttons for sending files and clipboard content in the persistent notification
- Full compatibility with recent Android versions
