If you used Windows XP, you might know about XP-AntiSpy, a tool that helped control Microsoft’s data access.

The last time XP-AntiSpy gained attention was in 2015 when it was adapted for Windows 10. Now, a software creator named Belim has revived XP-AntiSpy as XD-AntiSpy, releasing its first stable version.

The primary purpose of this tool remains unchanged: to offer users an easy way to manage specific Windows settings.

Overview of XD-AntiSpy

XD-AntiSpy is tailored for Windows 11 and is available on GitHub. It is a lightweight tool, less than 350 kilobytes in size, and can run without installation.

Note: Running XD-AntiSpy on Windows 11 may trigger a SmartScreen security warning, given the newness of the app, not due to any malicious intent.

The interface displays a list of categorized tweaks for Windows 11, including Adblock, AI/Copilot settings, and Microsoft Edge customizations.

Active tweaks are visibly marked with checkmarks, facilitating easy identification of enabled tweaks.

The majority of tweaks are straightforward, and hovering over them provides brief descriptions of their functions.

To apply changes, users can simply toggle the tweaks on or off and then click the “apply settings” button. While changes take effect immediately, a system restart is needed to finalize the process. Alternatively, users can achieve the same outcome through Tools > Restart Explorer.

The tool does not prompt users to create a system restore point or backup. While it supports importing and exporting settings, it is recommended to create a system restore point or a full backup before making significant system modifications with any tool.

Conclusion

XD-AntiSpy is a practical tweaking tool for Windows 11. While it may not offer an exhaustive range of features, it is a convenient and promising tool. The future advancements for XD-AntiSpy by Belim are eagerly anticipated.
