Upon the launch of Bixby as a voice assistant, Samsung aimed to create a seamless human-machine interface to simplify daily tasks and evolve alongside Samsung Galaxy innovations. YoungJip Kim, the Executive Vice President and Head of the Artificial Intelligence Team in the Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, stated, “We are enhancing our interface to be more intelligent, proactive, and adaptive, giving users greater control over their mobile experience.”

Samsung recently unveiled upgrades to Bixby, initially available in South Korea but now accessible to English-speaking users following the latest update. English users, which make up the majority, can now utilize the Bixby Text Call feature. If you’re curious about how to leverage Bixby Text Call, refer to the instructions provided below!

How to Utilize Bixby Text Call in English

Before delving into the instructions, let’s briefly define Bixby Text Call. This technology from Samsung allows you to transcribe the voice of the individual on the other end of the call, displaying their words on your screen for you to type a response. Bixby then converts your reply into audio and forwards it to the caller. While it may not seem immediately impactful, there are scenarios where this feature can be beneficial. For example, it can aid individuals in noisy environments or address privacy concerns.

Operating Bixby Text Call is a straightforward process. If you receive a call and wish to maintain privacy or are in a loud setting, tap the “Bixby Text Call” option that appears centrally on the screen during the call. To activate the assistant at any time, simply summon Bixby by saying “Hi Bixby” or long-pressing the Bixby or Side key, depending on your device settings. Additionally, it can create an AI version of your voice, dubbed as the “Custom Voice Creator” by Samsung.

Bixby is a valuable ally for Samsung users, streamlining various tasks and enhancing user experience. Bixby Text Call is the latest feature rolled out for English users, requiring a phone update for access. The simplicity and effectiveness of Bixby Text Call make it a valuable addition for users.

Understanding Bixby

If you’re unfamiliar with Bixby, think of it as Samsung’s counterpart to Apple’s Siri and Google Assistant. This voice-based virtual assistant assists with everyday tasks on your Samsung device, such as placing calls or scheduling events on your calendar. Bixby adapts to user commands, offering a seamless experience for users.
