Twitter is known for introducing new features and enhancements to its platform regularly. This time, the company is working on a set of new privacy tools that would allow users to remove a follower without resorting to blocking them. This new feature, called ‘soft block,’ is currently in the testing phase on the web version of Twitter.
With the ‘soft block’ feature, users can now easily remove followers from their list by accessing the three-dot menu next to the follower’s name and selecting the ‘remove follower’ option. This action ensures that their tweets will no longer appear on the unfollowed user’s timeline as they browse Twitter.
The term ‘soft block’ is aptly used because it doesn’t imply blocking someone outright to restrict their access to your account. It simply means that the individual will no longer see your content, and if they wish to view your tweets again, they will need to follow you once more. Additionally, if your account has protected tweets, the individual will require your approval to follow you again.
