At a time when pretty much most of the only 8K content you can find comes in the form of two gaming consoles that, let’s face it, are hard to buy.. It is a valid question, should you buy an 8K TV? I mean, our cable TV providers are mostly still streaming in HD, Blu-ray content is only sometimes found in 4K and the same goes for a movie on iTunes, and hey, only half our content here on YouTube is in 4K.
The answer is actually two things. The first is that if you’re like the average American and replace your TV every 7 to 8 years, imagine being stuck at 1080p or 4K in 2028? If gaming consoles and YouTube are making the move, that’s actually saying something. The second is that TVs are actually smarter today than they were before, so let me tell you why going future-proof is not something you should worry about any more.
