TCL introduced its latest lineup at the Mobile World Congress 2023, showcasing new smartphones and a tablet with a paper-like display.

TCL is known for offering affordable smartphones globally and has a significant customer base. The company participated in MWC to unveil its 2023 lineup. Besides smartphones, a few more devices were exhibited at the event with most of them becoming available in June, May, or later in the year.

“Our customers are our top priority. We value feedback and have introduced significant performance and display enhancements with TCL NXTURBO and TCL NXTPAPER 2.0. These improvements make devices like TCL NXTPAPER 11 and the new TCL 40 Series smartphones stand out in the market while supporting our mission of making technology accessible to all. With the support of our robust carrier partnerships, we aim to provide 5G for everyone,” said Aaron Zhang, Chief Executive Officer at TCL Communication.

TCL 40 XE 5G

The TCL 40 XE 5G is the most budget-friendly model in the TCL 40 X series. It features a Dimensity 700 processor, 4 GB RAM, and a 64 GB storage capacity that can be expanded using an external microSD card. The main camera sports a 13 MP sensor alongside 2 MP depth and 2 MP macro lenses. For selfies, there’s an 8 MP front camera, which is reasonable considering its $169 price tag. The XE model comes with a 6.56-inch HD+ display with a 90 Hz refresh rate and a 5,000 mAh battery, making it a solid choice for an entry-level phone.

TCL 40 X 5G

The TCL 40 X 5G model is a step up from the XE variant, particularly in terms of the camera. It offers a 50 MP main sensor along with 2 MP depth and 2 MP macro lenses. The front camera remains at 8 MP. It shares the same specifications as the XE model with a Dimensity 700 processor, 4 GB RAM, and a 64 GB storage capacity. Priced at $199, the TCL 40 X 5G also packs a 5,000 mAh battery.

Unlike the top two models, TCL introduces the 40 XL as a 4G option, priced lower than the X and XE. The TCL 40 XL features a 6.75-inch HD+ display with NXTVISION technology. It houses the same camera setup as the TCL 40 X 5G, with a 50 MP main sensor. Powered by a MediaTek G37 processor paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, the TCL 40 XL is priced at $149.

TCL 406

The TCL 406 stands as the most affordable smartphone in the lineup. With a massive 5000mAh 2-day charge battery, TCL promises extended listening to your favorite music. Sporting a 6.6-inch HD+ display enhanced by NXTVISION technology, the entry-level phone comes with a 14 MP main camera. Priced at $119, the TCL 406 seems like a great option for entry-level users. Initially available in Europe, it will expand to other markets later this year.

The NXTPAPER 11 is TCL’s latest Android tablet boasting a 2000×1200 resolution and an 11-inch IPS LCD display. With the new NXTPAPER 2.0 technology, the display offers up to 150% more brightness compared to its predecessor. The automatic light sensor adjusts color temperature based on the surroundings, delivering a more comfortable viewing experience. Powered by an 8-core MediaTek Helio P60T processor and a large 8,000 mAh battery with reverse charging capabilities, the NXTPAPER 11 starts at $249 and will hit the European markets in May 2023.

The TCL TAB 11 is a sleek and lightweight option, weighing only 462 grams with a 6.9mm design.
