Seven Women-Led Startup Companies In Pakistan Received a Seed Funding of Rs. 1.5 Million

In a recent development, Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan has joined hands with INNOVentures Global to announce the seven victorious teams of the Standard Chartered Women In Tech Programme for the year 2021, each winning an estimated amount of Rs. 1.5 million.

These seven standout teams were chosen from a pool of 25 teams, with over 350 talented applicants vying for the opportunity. The selected teams underwent a rigorous three-month training program that included coaching, mentoring, and business management to help scale their companies to new heights.

The initiative was initially introduced by Standard Chartered Americas in October 2014 as a local community project before making its way to Pakistan in March 2019. The primary objective of this endeavor is to tackle the gender gap prevalent in the technology and entrepreneurial sectors.

Moving forward, the winners will be backed by Standard Chartered, extending comprehensive mentorship and a milestone-based disbursement of the award over a span of 9 months.

The triumphant recipients of the SC WiT 2021 program are as follows:

Civixa – A pioneering startup focusing on automating object classification processes and developing algorithms for simple integration into AI applications.

Out Class – An online education platform catering to the Pakistani tuition market, offering top-notch teaching and service delivery.

Storytellers Club – An innovative venture providing co-curricular and extra-curricular storytelling and play experiences for children aged two to ten, with plans to establish a strong online presence post-COVID-19.

Abey Khao – A groundbreaking initiative providing employment opportunities for the hearing-impaired by setting up food carts that utilize sign language for sales. The venture is currently exploring the development of a digital ordering system.

Cheezain Etc. – An e-commerce platform and holistic destination for trendy home accessories.

MediQ – A digital healthcare application offering online consultation services and other related medical support. The app aims to expand its operations significantly.

SLOSH AI – A software tool streamlining the analysis and diagnosis of chest x-rays for radiologists and other healthcare providers.
