Mark Gurman of Bloomberg suggests that Apple is easing into a new phase after the launch of the iPhone 16, turning its attention towards the iPhone SE 4 as its next target. Given the unpredictable history of SE launches, identifying a precise release date for the SE 4 has been quite difficult.
Potential Release Timeline for iPhone SE 4
Gurman, known for his reliability in reporting on Apple matters, posits that the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be unveiled in early 2025. This timeframe corresponds with the previous irregularities in SE release patterns observed in 2016, 2020, and 2022.
Model Identifier and Current Development Stage
His insights point out that the model identifier for the SE 4 is “V59,” indicating it is still in the research and development stage. Furthermore, it is anticipated to be affordably priced, aiming to rival entry-level Android smartphones in China.
Design Evolution for iPhone SE 4
The most recent versions of the iPhone SE have maintained the same design, not necessarily for the appeal of the iPhone 8’s look but largely due to its cost-effectiveness. However, as time progresses, the SE 4 is expected to adopt a more modern design, akin to the iPhone 14, according to Gurman.
Expected Features
While the SE 4 may not feature dynamic keys or the Dynamic Island functionality, it is anticipated to include a borderless design and potentially support up to 8GB of RAM along with an Apple A18 chip. Although it may not meet all the latest expectations, there is speculation that some of Apple’s advanced features could be incorporated into the iPhone SE 4 by the first half of 2025.
