PINE64 has opened pre-orders for the ARM-based Linux laptop, the Pinebook Pro. If you missed the chance earlier, you can now reserve your Pinebook Pro.
Both the ISO and ANSI keyboard versions of the Pinebook Pro are currently in stock and available for pre-order on the official website.
The price for both models is $199.99 USD, excluding shipping costs. Shipping for this batch of Linux laptops is expected to start in late August 2020.
What’s Inside the Pinebook Pro?
The Pinebook Pro features a 14.1-inch IPS LCD display and is powered by a 64-bit dual-core ARM 1.8GHz Cortex A72 processor and Quad-Core ARM 1.4GHz Cortex A53 processor. It comes with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.0 storage.
The Pinebook Pro comes pre-installed with Manjaro Linux, but you can also choose to install other Linux distributions like Debian and Fedora.
It supports a variety of operating systems based on Linux and BSD. You can find a list of supported operating systems for the Pinebook Pro on their website.
For connectivity, it includes a Headphone jack, MicroSD card slot, USB 2.0 Type-A host port, and USB 3.0 Type-C ports with alt-mode display support. You can connect the Pinebook Pro to other PINE64 devices like PineTab or the latest PinePhone postmarketOS CE using USB-C docks.
