Plantronics BackBeat Sense SE

Apart from its price, if you are wondering what makes the Plantronics BackBeat Sense SE so unique from its predecessor, it’s the fact the new special edition set of headphones is water-resistant. The new set of headphones has a special nano coating technology that makes the device water-resistant. This is a handy feature, especially if you like to listen to music outside or near the pool.

Keep in mind, however, that the headphones are water-resistant and not waterproof so you cannot dive into a pool with your headphones on and expect them to work just fine afterwards. On the upside, the Plantronics BackBeat Sense SE comes in a tan color as opposed to the mediocre black or white options available for the standard BackBeat Sense.

Furthermore, the headphones are lightweight. They weigh about 140 grams which means you can use them without having that bulky feeling on your ears. The comfortable on-ear headphones come with a self-adjusting headband equipped with a metal frame and memory foam ear pads which are labeled “L” and “R” for convenience and easy usage.

With these set of headphones, you do not have to worry about your headphones slipping midway through your jog. The model is entirely sweat resistant and will securely stay on your head while you go running or jogging. In addition, the Sense SE is equipped with a feature that automatically detects when you have your headphones on or off.

The device pauses your music as soon you take your headphones off your ears and resumes playback immediately after you have put them on. The handy feature can also be deactivated according to your convenience. The Backbeat Sense SE uses Bluetooth 4.0 which means that you connect your device to two Bluetooth source devices and switch back and forth between them. The device also comes equipped with dual microphones. A button located at the bottom of the left ear cuff allows you to pause your music.

For the added price, the new Sense SE is a lot to pay for even if it is water-resistant. Keep in mind that the standard Sense headphones cost $40 to $50 less online.
