After initially releasing the online passport fee application in major cities, it is now available for use across Pakistan. The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DIGP) introduced the app for public use following the instructions from the Interior Ministry of Pakistan.
The Interior Minister of Pakistan, Rana Sanaullah, officially launched the app called ‘Passport Fee Asaan’ for public use today. The application is designed to be user-friendly for all individuals in the country.
Salman Sufi, who heads Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s strategic reform initiatives, mentioned that this is just one of the various new plans the government intends to introduce in the upcoming months.
Sufi highlighted the app’s benefits, emphasizing its efficiency in allowing the population to pay taxes without stress, unlike the previous cumbersome process of waiting in long lines at banks. In addition, citizens can pay their passport fees through the DIGP’s Pay Master Web portal.
Reports indicate that citizens of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore found it easy to conduct transactions and use the app. Karachi is expected to gain access to the app later this month.
Before its anticipated launch in Karachi, the minister has activated its availability throughout the country.
