Pakistan Sees Rise in Unemployment Rate Above 6.3%

ISLAMABAD: The Secretary of Pakistan’s Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development has revealed that the unemployment rate in the country stands at 6.3%. The most affected demographic is young people aged 15 to 34, who are facing the highest unemployment rates, creating a major challenge for the labor market.

This information was shared during an online session with the National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, which is led by Junaid Akbar, on Thursday.

The secretary emphasized the vital role of remittances from overseas Pakistanis as a key revenue source for the nation. Additionally, he indicated that the ministry is positioned to contribute significantly to the country’s progress.
