ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has rolled out a new initiative called e-Sahulat, enabling citizens to make deposits at over 50 banks.

This initiative arises from a partnership between 1LINK and NADRA Technologies Limited. The signing event featured the Chairman of NADRA and Deputy Governor Saleemullah from the State Bank of Pakistan.

Through this program, more than 9,000 e-Sahulat outlets will be set up to facilitate deposits requiring biometric verification. NADRA emphasized that the main objective of this initiative is to foster digital banking and improve access to financial services.

The project aims to ensure that all citizens have access to financial services and to extend the reach of digital banking across the country. Additionally, NADRA clarified that any biometric issues are not related to their system, as all banks can utilize the identity verification capabilities offered by the “Verisys” system.

NADRA is also working in conjunction with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and the State Bank of Pakistan to introduce a facial recognition verification system. Once launched, this service will be available to all banks and telecommunication providers.
