Mindely, a unique startup backed by Y Combinator, has re-thought the classic hiring strategy. Their Generative AI interviewer can conduct advanced interview rounds like the business case, role-play, and coding, usually done by senior managers/Partners at their target companies. Mindely, targeting this segment is helping companies select the best talent from a wider pool of candidates with minimal effort.
Multiple firms (consulting, BPOs…) want to use Mindely’s ability to simulate human-like complex discussions. A Parisian consulting firm has already started a pilot test. Mindely’s founders are actively discussing with other consulting firms in the US and Europe to transform their hiring process The AI platform’s popularity originates from its key feature: the ability to scale non-scalable interviews. In the past few years, many AI interviewers have emerged but have usually conducted HR screening rounds using a limited and pre-defined Q&A format without any real-time interaction with the candidate. This frustrated many candidates because they can’t express themselves, and companies tend to have little incentive to replace HR with AI Interviewers. Moreover, this traditional approach is unsuitable for advanced interview rounds like complex business case interviews and role-play interviews because they need real-time adaptive answers. Mindely founders Joseph Thalinjan, Alix Maurin, Sasha Collin, and Clément Nguyen take AI interviews to the next level by mastering complex reasoning situations, real-time adaptive answers, and human-like, unscripted interactions.
Joseph Thalinjan, CEO of Mindely, developed Mindely by blending his academic career at prestigious engineering and business schools (CentraleSupelec & ESCP Europe) and his experiences in strategy consulting (McKinsey). The development of the groundbreaking platform was a significant leap in Joseph’s career, demonstrating his commitment to innovation and leadership in the tech industry.
Alix Maurin, President and COO of Mindely, uses, on her side, her ability to seamlessly bridge the gap between strategic vision and data-driven execution. She developed those valuable skills when she studied in a prestigious business school (ESSEC) and when working in prestigious tech companies (Uber & Amazon) as well as Consulting (McKinsey). Alix has started a new career chapter where she can fully apply her skillset to develop this groundbreaking platform. Sasha Collin, CTO of Mindely, is responsible for the technical development of the platform. While exploring the intersection of AI and real-world applications at McKinsey and during his studies at prestigious universities (Ecole Normale Superieur), he became interested in Generative AI and joined the team g. His career success became possible due to his talent for quickly understanding and applying cutting-edge technologies
Creating innovative solutions that change people’s lives is also the goal of Mindely’s fourth co-founder, Clément Nguyen. He graduated from the same prestigious schools as Sasha and started his career at Rakuten Advertising. As the Head of Engineering at Mindely, he is in charge of the global development of the Platform. When starting Mindely, the founders had two major issues: the lack of human interviewers availability and the inconsistent quality of interviews. Several interviewers from various companies acknowledged the severity of these issues. They reported that interviews require considerable time and energy and that they struggle to determine the strengths and weaknesses of candidates after a long day of work.
Mindely can effectively perform this task without reducing the quality of the interviews. Since it is based on LLM (Large Language Models) technology, it can evaluate a candidate and reason like a human.
Its main task is to conduct labor-intensive advanced interview rounds with candidates. It works on an entirely rational basis. Containing over 200 evaluation criteria, Mindely can assess thousands of candidates accurately and without any effort. For these reasons, the startup accelerator, Y Combinator, became interested in the new company. Its Partners chose Mindely to participate in the 2024 summer batch, where they noted the uniqueness of the project and the impressive backgrounds of all co-founders, including their degrees in mathematics, grandes écoles, and experience in tech companies.
Growth is the most important focus of Mindely’s business model. Mindely’s co-founders are focused on further developing the project across various interview formats. Mindely is the future of interviews, and its capabilities will only advance as it grows.
