Linux Kodachi 7.2 ‘Defeat’ Released Officially With New Private Session Messenger

Linux Kodachi is recognized for its high level of security, offering complete privacy and anonymity. The founder, Warith Al Maawali, has now introduced the latest version, Linux Kodachi 7.2 ‘Defeat,’ following a comprehensive system update.

Linux Kodachi 7.2: What’s New?

The latest release brings a host of new security-focused features, updated components, and various enhancements. Built on the foundation of Xubuntu 18.04 LTS, Kodachi 7.2 now incorporates an upgraded Linux Kernel, moving from version 5.4.0-33 to 5.4.0-42.

A notable addition in Kodachi 7.2 is the inclusion of the highly regarded Session Messenger, known for its robust security measures. Furthermore, the update also integrates Threema, another end-to-end encrypted instant messaging application, into Kodachi’s browser bookmarks.

In response to the rebranding of the Matrix protocol-based messaging client Riot, Kodachi has introduced a new client called Element. The new release also enhances communication security by offering Steghide-GUI, enabling users to encrypt text messages and embed them within jpg, wav, or similar file formats for added protection.

Here are some other noteworthy updates in Kodachi 7.2:

  • Replaced the IP lookup plugin in the Kodachi browser
  • Resolved an update issue with the OnionShare utility
  • Introduced some icon changes
  • Enhanced the Conky system monitor with a reduced refresh timer
  • Added pci=noaer to grup options for error prevention
  • Adjusted the position of Yandex DNS
  • F ixed a bandwidth message length issue

How To Get Linux Kodachi 7.2?

If you are an existing or new Linux Kodachi user, it is recommended to upgrade to version 7.2. To update your current system, use the following command:

sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade
