The cheaper variant of LG’s flagship phone, the G4, the LG G4 Beat offers a similar style and features minus the performance. It is available in select regions. The price is currently in the $400 to $450 region. You can purchase the phone in one of several colors, including Metallic Silver, Ceramic White, and Shiny Gold.
Compared to the original G4, the design of the G4 Beat is more compact with a less high-res 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080-pixel LCD display (which is still comparable to the iPhone 6). Just like the G4, its camera is also one of its plus points. The rear camera is a decent 8 MP and for some inexplicit reason, 13 MP exclusively in Latin America. Both variants come with laser auto focus and a color Spectrum Sensor. You also have the ability to record in full HD. The front is a standard 5 MP.
The hardware specs are appreciable, enough to run the day to day functions and applications smoothly but are not in the same league as the original G4. It runs on an 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, with 1.5 GB RAM, a mere 8 GB of storage and a 2,300mAh battery that has just enough juice to run the phone for more than a day without the need to charge it again. It comes with Android Lollipop (5.1.1) installed as the standard OS.
In the connectivity department, it offers plenty of features, like 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and NFC. Other notable features include GPS/ A-GPS and microSD slots (supports up to 64 GB of storage)
Overall, the phone promises to be a great buy, offering the features of a high-end phone with the specs and price of a mid-ranged one. The LG G4 Beat is highly recommended for the more budget conscious smartphone buyers who don’t have the money for an iPhone or one of Samsung’s offerings.
