LG recently released a new LTE phone. No, it isn’t a smart phone. LG have introduced 4G LTE in a feature phone, a basic flip phone with very minimal of the commotion of the contemporary world! LG has launched the Exalt LTE, which is the first 4G LTE feature phone. We can recall a time when only the most elite smart phones used to have LTE and now we are looking at a feature phone, which cannot even incorporate most social media applications, being launched with the ability to connect to LTE networks.

The LG Exalt is Verizon’s first 4G LTE phone and it is surprising that they would introduce it in a feature phone despite the fact that they have quite a few smart phones to their name as well. Moreover, Verizon is one of the biggest CDMA supporters in the United States. The fact that the LG Exalt will function purely on GSM and does not even possess the option of working on a CDMA network is confusing, to say the least.
It’s safe to assume what the intended target market for this particular phone is. LG has targeted old-fashioned people who would prefer physical buttons to a touch mechanism, a flip screen over a touch screen. Sometimes, people just want to cut the call on someone’s face by closing the phone flap to give that dramatic effect. This purpose is served as well. Chris Pine, the famous Hollywood star, also uses a flip phone, by the way.
It’s not as glamorous as a smart phone, but some people do prefer phones like the LG Exalt. Things are so much less complicated.
