IIt has not been a month since the launch of Lenovo’s first ThinkPad laptop with Fedora Linux operating system and now the company has dropped another thrilling news for Linux fans.
First with Fedora and now with Ubuntu Linux, Lenovo plans to expand its Linux program. Yes, Lenovo has officially announced that it will roll out almost 30 selected ThinkPad laptops and ThinkStation PCs with Ubuntu Desktop 20.04 LTS pre-installed.
You may also know that in June this year, Lenovo already promised to certify its entire P-series ThinkPad and ThinkStation for top Linux distros, Ubuntu, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
So Lenovo’s upcoming workstations, laptops, and computers will definitely be fully-certified with removed complexities to easily install, run, and experience Ubuntu Linux out-of-the-box. You’ll also not need to do any custom deployment services as everything will be tested and packed by Lenovo team.
Speaking of the launch, it will globally start in September 2020 and continue throughout 2021. Here’s a list of all Lenovo ThinkPad and ThinkStation devices with Ubuntu certification:

As Lenovo is now gradually showing its full interest in the Linux community, it would be more exciting to see other top OEMs coming forward with their own support plan for Linux desktop.
