Intel has announced that the Intel Unison app will officially cease operations on June 30, 2025. This information was shared through notifications on its Windows platform, and the company’s Microsoft Store listing has been updated to inform users of the impending service closure.
There is one exception to this shutdown: the app will continue to function on Lenovo Aura devices for the remainder of 2025. Moreover, updates to the Intel Unison applications for Android and iOS, available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, have been made to notify users about the upcoming discontinuation. Originally launched in September 2022, the app became available a year later for Intel’s 12th generation processors and was also pre-loaded on Intel Evo devices.
Although the iOS version faced limitations due to Apple’s restrictions, Intel Unison allowed iPhone users to connect with Windows PCs for sending and receiving SMS messages and viewing phone notifications in real-time on their computers. The Android version was designed to improve interaction between Android smartphones and PCs, enabling users to make calls, send messages, and wirelessly connect to external displays. Additionally, it allowed for seamless drag-and-drop file transfers across devices, which some users have found to offer an experience that is superior to that of Microsoft’s Phone Link.
As the shutdown date approaches, users who wish to connect their Android devices with Windows PCs will need to transition to Microsoft Phone Link.
