Instagram Tests Innovative Story Highlights Features

Instagram is reportedly testing a new feature called story highlights, enabling users to revisit previously shared Instagram stories from accounts they follow.

The platform, owned by Meta, has frequently launched new features designed to boost user interaction. Notably, Instagram has also introduced “trial reels,” which provide content creators the opportunity to engage with non-followers and explore innovative ideas.

Instagram Upgrades Story Highlights

Recent reports suggest that Instagram’s forthcoming feature will allow users to view highlights of stories from their mutual followers for up to a week after those stories have been posted.

These unseen story highlights will be placed at the bottom of the story tray at the top of the feed, granting viewers access to this content.

It’s crucial to understand that this update will only affect the original poster’s saved story highlights and will not alter the regular functionality of older stories, which vanish after 24 hours.

Users will have the ability to explore highlights from previous posts, provided they have viewed all stories from the accounts they follow. This new functionality aims to keep users informed about the content shared by their social circles, particularly in light of the increasing presence of sponsored content and digital media. Instagram users across the globe can look forward to the upcoming launch of the story highlights feature soon.
