Reports indicate a rise in GPS signal disruptions along the India-Pakistan border, highlighting an increase in electronic warfare activities between the two countries. This development reflects enhanced military readiness and a growing integration of advanced technologies in their defense strategies.
Both nations are thought to have established electronic warfare (EW) units in key border areas. Electronic warfare includes operations that exploit the electromagnetic spectrum, such as GPS jamming and signal interference, to secure a tactical advantage over adversaries.
In a recent tweet, defense analyst Professor pointed out that both India and Pakistan have deployed electronic warfare resources along the border. He noted that India not only has a greater number of EW units but also possesses more advanced technology compared to Pakistan, stating, “Things are getting serious now,” which emphasizes the rising concerns surrounding the situation.

Defense experts assert that India leads the region in electronic warfare capabilities, with systems designed to disrupt communications, complicate satellite navigation, and neutralize enemy radar. In contrast, while Pakistan is developing its own electronic warfare assets, it operates on a smaller scale and is working on improving its capabilities.
Although neither government has publicly acknowledged the recent GPS jamming incidents, specialists caution that the uptick in electronic warfare could result in inaccurate data or heighten tensions. Authorities and security analysts are closely monitoring the situation, urging both countries to manage their tensions prudently and maintain open communication channels to promote stability along the border.
