Huawei Pakistan and Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) have come together to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the aim of transforming the declining Ravi river into a Safe/Smart Green City equipped with cutting-edge Safe/Smart city technologies. This agreement strengthens their one-year long partnership.
The MoU signing event saw the presence of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, CEO of RUDA Imran Amin, CEO of Huawei Pakistan Mr. Mark Meng, Deputy CEO of Huawei Pakistan Mr. Ahmed Bilal Masud, Senior VP of Huawei UAE Mr. Safder Nazir, Managing Director of Huawei Pakistan Lahore Mr. Li Wen, and other representatives from both organizations.
Prime Minister Imran Khan commended RUDA and Huawei for their collaboration in creating a new Safe and Smart River Forest City and expressed his anticipation for expanding this initiative across Pakistan.
In order to establish the world’s largest riverfront Safe/Smart city, the Parties involved will collaborate on key projects like “Smart Forests” and others under the River Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) in Pakistan. RUDA Pakistan serves as the Developer while Huawei acts as the Lead Technology Partner. Both entities will work together on the design and execution of Smart Forests using advanced technologies such as IoT, Cloud Computing, Big Data, AI, Data Center Network, Storage and Servers, Data Center Facility, Intelligent Security Surveillance System, Solar Energy, and more.
