Google has enhanced its Gemini AI assistant by introducing a chat recall feature that allows the system to remember and reference previous conversations. This advancement aims to deliver responses that are more personalized and contextually relevant, alleviating the need for users to summarize past interactions.
This feature is available to subscribers of Gemini Advanced via the Google One AI Premium plan, enabling Gemini to revisit and elaborate on earlier discussions. Moreover, users can request summaries of previous conversations and easily continue with ongoing tasks without starting over.
Users have control over this feature, allowing them to review, delete, and manage their chat history. They can do this by selecting their profile picture in the top right corner of the Gemini app and navigating to “Gemini Apps Activity,” which empowers users to oversee and manage their data according to their preferences.
At present, the chat recall functionality is being gradually rolled out to English-speaking users on both web and mobile platforms. Google plans to expand this ability to other languages and to Google Workspace Business and Enterprise customers in the coming weeks.
This update aligns Gemini with other AI assistants, such as ChatGPT, which already offer similar memory capabilities. By enhancing its conversational skills, Google aims to improve the user experience and maintain a competitive edge in the AI assistant market.
