Emirates Airline has revealed a record-breaking profit of $5.6 billion for the fiscal year concluding on March 31, 2025, firmly securing its position as the world’s most profitable airline. This represents a 20% increase from last year’s profit of $5.2 billion, fueled by strong global travel demand and a rise in premium-class bookings.
The airline carried 53.7 million passengers during the year, marking a 3% growth from the previous year, while also enhancing its seat capacity by 4%. Additionally, Emirates’ revenue saw an uptick of 6%, amounting to $34.9 billion.
In recognition of its remarkable performance, Emirates has awarded bonuses to its 120,000 employees, equivalent to 22 weeks’ worth of basic salary, underscoring the company’s commitment to sharing its achievements with its workforce.
Looking ahead, the airline aims for further expansion by investing $5 billion to retrofit 219 aircraft and is set to receive 16 new Airbus A350s and 4 Boeing 777 freighters in the 2025–2026 period. As of March 2025, Emirates has a fleet of 260 aircraft, with an additional 314 units on order.
Despite facing challenges, such as aircraft delivery delays and a recent 9% business tax in the UAE, Emirates has shown impressive resilience and strategic foresight, further anchoring Dubai’s status as a key global aviation hub.
