Apple has officially launched its Apple TV+ streaming application for Android devices, marking a significant step beyond its usual hardware-focused ecosystem. This initiative aims to expand its audience by making exclusive content accessible to non-Apple users.
With this new app, Android users can now access popular Apple TV+ originals, including “Ted Lasso,” “The Morning Show,” and “Severance.” The app includes essential features like “Continue Watching” and “Watchlist,” ensuring a seamless viewing experience across different devices.
As part of the launch, Apple is offering a seven-day free trial for new subscribers on Android. After the trial, users can continue their subscription for a monthly fee of $9.99. This strategy allows Apple to strengthen its position in the competitive streaming market by reaching individuals outside of its traditional customer demographic.
This launch is part of Apple’s efforts to expand the global footprint of its streaming service and diversify its revenue streams. By making Apple TV+ available on Android, the company is improving its content distribution capabilities, which may result in a notable increase in subscriber growth.
