Apple Intelligence has been made available in six more regions, although it currently only supports the English language.
The company, based in Cupertino, has been closely monitoring rivals like Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and others that have attracted users to their AI platforms. In June 2024, Apple launched Apple Intelligence. However, despite hopes that these new AI features would coincide with the iOS 18 rollout, they were notably absent from even the latest iPhone 16 releases.
Users had to wait until late October for the introduction of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1, which finally offered Apple Intelligence. Many were left disappointed, as the AI capabilities were only available to users in the United States who had set their devices to US English. Numerous users voiced their dissatisfaction, feeling misled by the marketing surrounding this vital feature that was unavailable in their regions.
Apple Intelligence expands to six additional countries
Apple Intelligence is now available for English speakers in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK. This expansion essentially broadens support for different localized English variants, aligning with the updates to iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS 15.2. However, many are still curious about when support for other languages will be rolled out.
When will the rest of the world gain access to Apple Intelligence?
Apple has revealed plans to introduce support for additional languages, including Chinese, Indian English, Singapore English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese by 2025. A partial implementation of these AI features is anticipated with an update in April.
The company has also announced intentions to expand Apple Intelligence into regions within the European Union next year. For those eager to access the features sooner, a workaround exists that enables activation regardless of location, although it necessitates changing the device’s language to English.

Features of Apple Intelligence
The Notes app now includes an Image Wand, which allows users to create images based on the written or visual content within their notes. With AI-enhanced tools available in several applications, users can write professionally using the Rewrite, Proofread, and Summarize features. Another noteworthy functionality, Visual Intelligence, allows you to summarize text, copy content, translate material, recognize contact details such as phone numbers or email addresses, and seamlessly add them to your Contacts.
The newly introduced Image Playground app facilitates image generation, with similar capabilities integrated into other apps like Messaging, Freeform, and Keynote. Furthermore, Apple Intelligence enables users to create unique, custom Genmoji just by typing. If you come across an interesting item, you can use Camera Control to gather more information.
Moreover, ChatGPT is incorporated into Siri, allowing users to access OpenAI’s services without needing to log in for anonymity. Users with a ChatGPT subscription have the option to log in for enhanced features.
