3 Ways to Become a Better Blogger

Blogging is a hard profession to turn to full time. Unless you are self-motivated and enjoy the things you blog about, the likelihood of you making a success of blogging can be quite narrow. That is quite a few negative sentences for the start of this article but it is the truth. You must have an interest in what you are blogging about otherwise you will struggle to keep yourself motivated about something you simply do not enjoy. Putting this aside, most bloggers out there do thoroughly enjoy what they blog about, hence why they do it. But, there are always areas of improvements in bloggers. Here are three ways to make yourself a better blogger.

#1 Jot Down Ideas to Prevent Blogger’s Block

As I have mentioned in recent articles, one of the main reasons people lose interest in blogging is because they do not know what to talk about. They schedule in a time to blog and then sit at a blank screen at that time waiting for a light bulb to light up above their head and start blogging – if only things were that simple. You cannot guarantee the best ideas come from sitting at a blank screen. The best ideas for blogging can come at anytime of day/night and at any location. That is why it is a necessity to jot these ideas down whenever you come up with them so that when it does come to blogging, you already have a list of great ideas to blog about. There is nothing worse than reading an article which feels forced and unnatural (believe me, if you have not read one, you will know once you start reading one…).

#2 Communicate with the Blogosphere

Blogging is very much about communication not just to the world but the world communicating to you. For many bloggers, they think that a good blogger just has to put content out there and wait for the traffic to role in – wrong. The best bloggers will interact with their audience, visit other like-minded blogs and comment on them too. This way, you will get a better idea of the sector you are blogging in and get more feedback on your articles which will help you to come up with better ideas for new blog articles in future that will suit your target market better.

#3 Spend 10% Longer Blogging

However long it currently takes for you to create a blog post at the moment, add 10% to that time to make your blog posts better. The truth of the matter is that when many bloggers write articles, they are usually rushing it which results in the articles not making total sense, can sometimes come across as ‘waffly’ and ‘not to the point’. Therefore, it is sometimes better to take a chill pill, relax, and write your blog post at a steady pace. That way, you are preventing yourself from making mistakes as you write and you will be more clear minded so will be more precise and to the point. What more, the overall time for you to create the blog post will decrease as the time it will take to proof read your work will be less as you will have most likely made less mistakes throughout your work!
