Sometimes, when I go online, I will search for something and click straight off an article just because it is in paragraphs without headings. I know that a lot of people want the information quickly and in a way easily readable. Therefore, when it came to writing this article, I thought I would do the search engine optimisation tips in bullet points, so you can see them easily and scan through them quickly and easily. Here are sixteen SEO tips to use.

  1. Content always improves SEO so make sure you are publishing new high quality content.
  2. Websites that are about one topic rather than vaguely about many do better organically.
  3. Always try to link to one or two articles within your website with every article you produce.
  4. Page loading time matters. Try to eliminate any HTML or JavaScript junk that might be affecting your website’s loading time.
  5. Include images in your articles so your article will be recognised on image search results and improve SEO.
  6. Include keywords and search phrases in your image’s title for better ranking organically on image search results.
  7. This might sound silly, but people do forget to submit their websites to search engines and index them – do not be one of these people!
  8. Try to make sure your content is timeless. By this, someone now to 50 years from now will find it just as helpful and insightful.
  9. Optimise your website for mobile to improve SEO. Google have just released an update which will impact websites mobile organic ranking if they are not optimised for mobile devices (by this, by not having a mobile template).
  10. Include meta tags for your website. If your website is about one topic, then choosing what meta tags to use will be easy.
  11. Use headings with every article you make. I know this is a bit hypocritical with this article but headings help search engines find out easier what your article is about.
  12. Make sure your domain name is filled with relevant keywords to the content on your website as a keyword rich domain can help wonders organically.
  13. Always make sure to constantly add new content.
  14. Add a sitemap so spiders can crawl through your website easier (that sentence sounds pretty weird)!
  15. Link to others and they will sure enough link back to you (but only link to content you think is useful).
  16. Publish your content all over social media.
