Your display resolution is set to a low level, likely 640×480 (if it’s just like safe mode) or 800×600.

To set them normal do the following:

1. Right click on the desktop
2. Click on Properties
3. Select the Settings tab
4. Drag the slider bar to a more acceptable resolution, like 1024×768 or 1280×1024
5. Click Apply
6. Assuming that the res. you selected works, you’re done!

Now, if it doesn’t work, or if the slider is greyed out, then you probably have an issue with your display or monitor drivers. Try the 1024×768 res first, as everything will accept that, unless your computer monitor was made in like 1987. More than likely it’s a video card driver problem, and in that case you’re going to need to download the drivers for it.

There’s no way I have of knowing what card you’ve got, so consult your computers documentation, or just look at the video card itself. Often times it’ll have identifying marks on it as to what it is.

In the mean time here are the three most common video card manufacturers:

The driver packs from nVidia and ATi are pretty much all-inclusive so you won’t need to know your specific model of card, only the brand (most of the time). With Intel, you’re not so lucky. There’s also a chance it’s none of the three.
