We are under a month away from Samsung revealing their new flagship phone for 2017: the Samsung Image result for samsung s8
Galaxy S8. Up to now, the only other phone that has been released in 2017 was from LG, with the impressive G6. This smartphone got rid of the modularity from its predeccessor, added water resistant and a much larger and beautiful screen covering the front of the phone. Overall, the LG has set the standards high for 2017. So, with this high standard, let’s go through some of the expectations that is surrounding the highly anticipated Galaxy S8.

#1 Cutting Edge Hardware

As a flagship of Samsung, this is going to be no slouch of a smartphone. We can expect to see the latest Snapdragon 835 (not the 821 which is in the LG G6), 6GB of ram and a 4K screen (or at least a Quad HD screen for that matter).

#2 Curved at the Edges

The S8 is likely to not have an ‘Edge’ version due to the fact that both smarpthones they offer, a smaller and larger variant, will have edge to edge screens, quite literally. #3 Embedded Finger print Sensor into the Screen

An exciting rumour that has yet to be confirmed is the inclusion of a finger print sensor onto the screen. Up to now, any finger print sensor that has been on a phone has been added as an addition sensor, since the touchscreen capacilities to read a finger print is different from that used on the front panel of a smartphone. But, leaked images make ‘black and white’ clear that the home button/finger print sensor has been ditched. So, it is unlike Samsung to ditch such a useful feature – hence why there is excitment that the whole or portion of the front panel or front screen is a finger print sensor.

#4 AMO-LED Display and Always On Display

The screens Samsung produce are truly second to none. With this, just like with the S7 and Note 7, we can expect to see a beautiful AMO-LED screen feature on the S8. This does also mean the Always On Display will be on the S8, which will allow certain useful information, such as the clock, to be on at all times. This is possible due to the screen being AMO-LED, where pixels can be individually turned on or off to save power.

Ultimately, I think the S8 is likely to make the G6 look second best, as is always the case when LG bring their phone out before Samsung. But, what is the most interesting area for this phone is not when it is released but when the iPhone 8 is released, where Apple are celebrating their 10th anniversary for the iPhone. For this reason, we can expect huge things from Apple this year…
