I saw your web site regarding BAD_POOL_HEADER. I don’t have problem booting rather…
I was getting the “blue screen (BAD_POOL_HEADER)” every time I put in CD. Microsoft said it was the Sonic DLA, but Sonic does not have an update. I removed Sonic DLA from PC and no more problems.
Now PC doesn’t recognize Drive D to copy “to”, however I can copy “from”.
Two ?’s
1. What software do I need to replace Sonic DLA
2. Do I need Sonic RecordNow software on my PC
Thanks, Dave Osbourne
It’s good that you’re no longer getting the error when inserting a CD into your drive, although you obviously will want to be able to write to CDs again.
1. You will want to get Roxio or Ahead Nero to replace Sonic DLA. I like them both quite thoroughly, and have at one time or another had them both on my machine. In fact, right now I’m using Nero, while on my last install of Windows I was using Roxio.
2. No, you do not need Sonic RecordNow on your machine. It’s simply a piece of software made for burning CD’s and DVD’s, and so if you’ve replaced it with some other program that works for you then there’s no reason to reinstall it.
For the average consumer I’d have to say that I recommend Roxio over Nero as it tends to be a bit easier to use.
