Should You Choose GoDaddy To Host Your WordPress Website?

When it comes to creating a website, particularly with WordPress, you will definitely be needing some sort Image result for godaddyof hosting if you really want to own the content that is going online and do it ‘the right way’. When it comes to hosting WordPress websites, there are many different hosting providers you can go for. From just Googling ‘wordpress hosting’, I can already see there are tens, if not hundreds, of host providers you can go for – one of these hosting providers is GoDaddy and, to some extent, can be seen as the market leader for hosting. However, should you go for them? After using GoDaddy for the past year for a new project website of mine, here is the main pro and con, I found, to using GoDaddy as a hosting provider for a WordPress website.

+ Their Support is Awesome

The best bit about GoDaddy, by a country mile, is the fact that they have amazing support be it via email, on the phone or through live chat. You can always get through to another human who can help you with whatever problems you might be facing.

You might not think you will need such level of customer support when it comes to hosting and I felt exactly the same at first – after all, hosting providers literally provide you hosting for your WordPress website and that is it. Well, yes to some extent. However, what happens if your website goes down temporarily? What if there are server problems? What if you want to get a good discount on your renewal or upgrade your hosting option? All of these require contacting support so it is refreshing to say the least that GoDaddy do offer excellent support.

– Seemingly Expensive though…

Comparing the prices GoDaddy offer for their WordPress hosting per month, they do seem a bit expensive for what they offer.

For example, the packages GoDaddy offer when looking at the core of the packages, have caps on the amount of visitors a website can have for which many other hosting providers do not have (where it is, in fact, unlimited monthly visitors). For me, this was quite annoying since the number of visitors that are visiting my website is constantly increasingly. Therefore, I don’t want to have to continually upgrade my package to match the visitor number, paying continuously for extras such as extra SSD storage for which I do not need.

If you do go for GoDaddy, make sure you get a discount on any purchase as GoDaddy prices are subject to negotiation with the right techniques!

Ultimately, I think for newbies starting websites, GoDaddy is the perfect hosting provider to go to since they make the process very easy and offer a great level of support. If you understand how hosting works and WordPress quite well, I think you would be better off going for another well known hosting provider, such as 1&1, which offer more value for your money.
