Blue screen – Monitor displays everything in a blueish hue
Name: Colin Sandberg
I turned on my computer after opening it up and poking around a bit. I did remove the power supply and replaced it. When I turned my computer back on, the screen was blue, however, besides this, it functions normally. I hope you can help me.
Is your monitor connected via a d-sub connector? The first thing that comes to mind with your issue is that there’s an open in your monitor cable. Assuming you have an older analog connection, because I quite honestly don’t know whether or not a DVI connection would behave this way, there’s probably a break in one of the wires that goes to your monitor. Try wiggling the connection at the back of your computer around and see if suddenly the color becomes normal.
If wiggling the cable around at the connection point doesn’t do the trick, you may want to try moving the middle of the cable about, but almost always if there’s a monitor cable issue it’s at the connection point.
Aside from that, there’s a slight possibility that the same issue happened on your motherboard. If somehow one of the connections to the d-sub output snapped this can cause the color problem. Make sure that all the wires on the inside look intact (usually a set of rigid connectors)
Also, try another monitor. There’s always the possibility that your current setup has gone bad.

Problem was this for my comp had a greeen hue tyvm!!
For the sake of adding information. If the connection between the monitor and the video card is loose there’s the problem. Some video cards will actually go bad and produce horizontal or vertical lines on the screen. It sounds like all that was needed was a a adjustment to the monitor settings.

Thanks Colin! Thanks…..
I just had this problem. The whole screen has a blue cast to it. I discovered that the connection into the back of the PC was slightly out on one side.
I pushed it all the way in and the screen returned to normal immediately.
Me too, i had that same problem and i took it to the warranty and they couldn’t do nothing about it, i had to buy another one
The Cable MUST be properly secured, every pin connected. As long as you see some sort of picture, you know the GPU is working.
Cable was the problem. After reading above, I turned the monitor around, and the cable fell off. (I’m now unpacking from a move to a new apt.) Re-attaching the cable and screwing in the connectors solved the problem. Thanks!
omg, it worked!!!turned out it WAS my cord, right at the knobby part in the line, i pushed it in, wiggled it, and voila!normal screen again!!!thank gosh, because i had literally just thrown away the receipt after deciding i wasn’t returning it afterall.
what about on a laptop?
Just saved me from freeking out and buying a new monitor!!!! thanks so much for the posts mine was the connection to the back of the computer that was loose. Can’t thank you enough
