ctrl alt up arrow worked. thanks for your help. my dog leaned on my laptop and it turned upside down… i’m relieved it’s fixable :)

The problem with your “I’m angry at Microsoft” argument is that this is not a standard, or indeed even Microsoft related feature – it’s Intel. Some of their graphics chipsets support display rotation, and for whatever reason Intel decided that making a key combo was a good idea.

Many thanks from me, too!!! Probably caused by the kids playing computer games (they called me at work, “mom, there’s something wrong with the computer!!!”). I fixed it temporarily but after restart it was still upside down. Thought the bl***y games imported a virus or the kids responded to a threat.

Ugh. Considering how COMMON it is to pressy ctr-alt-delete and considering how CLOSE the down arrow is to the delete key and the absolute CERTAINTY that people will press this key combination occasionally by accident …

This may just be the straw that broke the camels back, I’ve had it with microsoft. What a totally stupid thing for them to do, its almost like they’re gloating with glee with everyone who is going to be screwed by this not knowing what to do.
