I have style xp installed on my computer. what this software does is change the way that windows looks like and changes the way that the screen you login with looks. every time i boot the computer the style is different but i put a new style on and now it give me the error:

Parser Message
Value Creation Failed at Line 12

How can you fix this? I can not even get in to safe mode! (or system recovery!)

Whew, sounds like a fun one. Luckily I’ve run into this issue on a clients machine before with Style XP loading a corrupted theme.

There are a couple of options. The best way is to use Barts PE and load your registry with it (you will need the Registry Loader PE plugin), then change the value:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\UIHost from what it currently is to logonui.exe

The other option is to restore an older registry from before you installed Style XP, I imagine this isn’t really feasible as I bet that the style software has been installed for some time.
