I have a broken on/off button on a 7324 laptop. I have remove all screws and still cannot split the case. Any help would be great.
thanks

Hmm.. That’s a tricky one. No two laptops are alike, and there generally are some major differences even between different models from the same brand. What I’ve found to be the case with many laptops is that they have screws hidden underneath the keyboard. See if you can get the keyboard off and check what’s under there (be careful!). Also, you’ll likely have to at least remove the hard drive from the laptop as well. Most modern lappy HD’s are secured by one screw into their slot. You remove that screw and can then slide the HD out like a PCMCIA card. (Some require you to unclip the end plastic peice.
Under the battery is another common place for hidden screws.
You’ll probably want to remove all the peripherals that you can and see where that takes you. Be sure to remember where everything goes!

Joe,
Underneath the laptop, remove the screw directly to the upper right of the memory stick plate cover. next flip over the laptop and open it.
Using a small flathead, pry the flathead under the power button/media button strip and pry it up. Make sure the laptop is open 180 degrees.
This piece comes off with only that one screw.
Be VERY VERY CAREFUL. The ribbon connecting the strip to the motherboard breaks easily. You can disconnect the ribbon by sliding the brown part down and remove the ribbon You can now fix your power button.
