Must Have Features Of Smartphones in 2015

16a334k.jpg

So it is that time of year when some smartphones have been released such as the LG G4, Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge and more while others are still waiting to be released in the next coming months (such as the much anticipated Nexus 5 2nd generation). From viewing the phones that have been released this year, it appears there has been two main focuses. One has been the screen and the other being price (phones in the $300 or £250 and less category seem to get much more attention such as the 3rd generation Moto G). Since there has not been a smartphone that has completely blown the competition away, here are some of the must have features smartphones need to have in order to succeed in 2015.

#1 Qualcomm Quick Charge (or similar)

Battery has always been a problem with smartphones as the screen sizes get bigger and the thickness of the smartphones decrease. For this reason, it is a necessity for smartphones to have Qualcomm quick charging or something similar to that.

The thing tha I have realised about Qualcomm quick charging is that to get it into smartphones is not that big a deal. For example, the LG G4 first came without Qualcomm quick charging but after a minor software update the LG G4 then supported it.

#2 Wireless Charging

Just like with Qualcomm quick charging, the capability to wireless charge is a necessity. Not always do people want to charge their phones because, although this sounds pathetic, some people cannot be bothered to plug a phone into a lead. Wireless charging solves this so, for example, if you were at work and constantly going between your desk and meetings, you can place your phone on a wireless charger on your desk so that in between meetings you are still charging your phone easily.

#3 USB Type-C

USB type-C is a new technology that very few phones have at the moment. However, you can bet your house on it that it will become the norm for smartphones in 2016 or late 2015. There are many benefits to USB type-C which are explained in this article.

#4 5″ Smartphone Screen

Long are the days of below 5 inch screens. No smartphone in 2015 should have a screen less than 5 inches diagonally (and if they do, do not buy it)! Smartphone designs mean they can accommodate much bigger screen sizes with a decreased footprint due to small bezels – great examples of this are the LG G2, G3 and G4.

#5 Micro SD Card Slot

Why does it seem that smartphones with micro SD card slots are a dying breed? It really is not right. However, do not get your hopes down because there are still some phones with micro SD card slots like the LG G4. So there is still an option to choosing a phone with the capacity to store all your apps, music, photos and videos without having to delete your data because you run out of memory!
